The New York Giants have signed Kobe Smith, a 6-foot-2, 312-pound defensive lineman who is looking for his first NFL playing opportunity.

Smith played college football at South Carolina and was signed by the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in May 2020, only to be waived on September 5, 2020, and re-signed to the practice squad. He was released three weeks later.

Between 2021 and 2022, Smith signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons, but saw no actual NFL regular season playing time. In 2022, Smith attended the Giants’ minicamp as a tryout player.

In 2023, Smith signed with the San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL. In three games for the Brahmas, he recorded two tackles and assisted in five more, with two tackles for a loss. He was also credited with a half-sack. Smith was placed on the reserve list by the Brahmas on March 29, 2023.

On June 15, 2023, Smith signed with the New York Giants.
