XFL Week 10 – Players of the Week – “Fan’s Choice” by XFLBoard.com

Welcome to our XFL Week 10 – Players of the Week – “Fan’s Choice” results. Voting began immediately at the completion of the final game on Sunday. We gathered over 1900 votes before the closing of polls at 12:00PM Eastern on Tuesday April 25, 2023. We thank all who voted!

Fans were asked to nominate any player they deemed worthy of the honor, in three categories: Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams. Winners below are based on the number of votes received for each player.

XFL Offensive Player of the Week:
#10 A.J. McCarron, Quarterback, St. Louis Battlehawks

St. Louis Battlehawks quarterback A.J. McCarron completed 28 of 35 passes for 420 yards which set an XFL record. McCarron generated six touchdowns and added nine rushing yards in the Battlehawks’ 53-28 win over the Orlando Guardians, which set another XFL record for points scored in a game.

Ben DiNucci, Quarterback, Seattle Sea Dragons

• Solid performance completing 26 of 41 passes for 339 yards, and three touchdowns, plus 41 rushing yards. (Red)

Hakeem Butler, Wide Receiver St. Louis Battlehawks

• McCarron’s favorite target who caught nine passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns. (Anonymous)

XFL Defensive Player of the Week:
#11 Tavante Beckett, Linebacker, Houston Roughnecks

XFL Houston Roughnecks linebacker Tavante Beckett was good for six tackles, two tackles for loss, and one interception for a game-clinching touchdown in a Week 10 game against the Arlington Renegades.

The fans said:

• Beckett’s interception of a tipped Luis Perez pass in the third quarter was the straw that broke the back of the Renegades. (Sedan T)
• Deserved! Beckett with defensive touchdowns in back-to-back weeks. (Johnny Drama)
• Tavante Beckett had a stellar game turning a tipped Perez pass into a major score for the Roughnecks. (Ringer)

XFL Special Teams Player of the Week:
#13 Pooka Williams, Returner, D.C. Defenders

D.C. Defenders found a gem in Pooka Williams as a kick returner as he had six returns for 182 yards at a 30.3 yard average. In the first quarter Williams made one of the biggest plays of the game when he took a kickoff 79 yards to the Brahmas 30-yard line.

• Speedy Pooka Williams with a 79 yard return that put the Brahmas on their heels. (Gen)
