UFL announces Showcase in Switzerland in 2025

The UFL is heading to Europe.

The league announced via social media post on Friday that they’ll hold their first Showcase outside the United States in 2025. The Showcase will take place in Switzerland with a date of Sunday, September 21.

There is no other information available at this time, as the league did not send out a traditional press release to accompany the post. They did highlight two players from France that attended the recent Showcase in Dallas. There was also a player from Japan that attended October’s San Diego Showcase.

Countries all over the world are embracing American football thanks in part to the NFL’s efforts to take the game internationally. The European League of Football (ELF) is the premier American football organization on that continent and features select American players and coaches. Former San Francisco 49er head coach Jim Tomsula, for example, is the head coach of the Rhein Fire.

Holding the Showcase in Switzerland puts it in the center of Europe, with many of the countries represented by the ELF surrounding it. While it’s a great opportunity for those players to get noticed, it remains to be seen how easy it would be for those players to sign with a UFL team and play in America.
