January 22, 2024 -With the first trade of the new UFL, the Birmingham Stallions acquired DB Bubba Bolden, Miami (FL), from the San Antonio Brahmas for DB Alijah Holder, Stanford.
Bubba Bolden was originally signed with the Brahmas just prior to the USFL/UFL merger on December 22, 2023. Bolden began his college career at USC before transferring to Miami (FL). The Seahawks signed Bolden as an undrafted free agent in 2022. On November 22, 2022, Bolden was signed to the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad., and then he signed a reserve/future contract on January 9, 2023. He was waived/injured on August 12, 2023, and reverted to the team’s injured reserve list the next day. The team waived him from injured reserve with an injury settlement on August 17.
Alijah Holder was chosen by the Birmingham Stallions in the UFL “Super” Dispersal Draft held on January 15, 2024. Previously, Holder appeared in all 10 games with the Seattle Sea Dragons in 2023, totaling 25 tackles. He also spent 2022 with the Houston Gamblers, recording 19 tackles. Holder spent five seasons at Stanford during his collegiate career, which saw him tally 132 tackles, including 6.5 for a loss, and 28 passes defended in 37 career games.
