Via social media, former Houston Gamblers/Roughnecks safety Manny Bunch has announced his retirement from football.

Bunch earned All-USFL honors last year with the USFL Houston Gamblers, and totaled 90 tackles, two sacks, and am interception through two years on the team.

On May 21, 2024, as part of their final training camp cutdowns, the Houston Roughnecks waived Bunch. A Gamblers stalwart, Bunch was one of the few players remaining from the former the Gamblers inaugural USFL draft. Many assumed Bunch would be an anchor on the Houston defense this season, however injuries seemed to have taken a toll on Bunch, and are likely behind his decision to hang up his cleats.

Hailing from Fort Smith, AR, Manny Bunch attended college at the University of Tulsa . He was drafted into the USFL in 2022.
