This was the fourth meeting all-time between the Renegades and Brahmas. In week five of the UFL season, the Renegades fell to the Brahmas, 25-15, at Choctaw Stadium. During the 2023 XFL regular season, Arlington defeated San Antonio 12-10 in week five at The Alamodome. The following week, the Brahmas got their revenge with a 15-9 victory over the Renegades at Choctaw Stadium.

With two more regular-season games remaining on the UFL schedule, the Brahmas would earn a spot in the XFL Conference Championship Game with a win over Arlington, and remain tied with the St. Louis Battlehawks for first place in the XFL Conference. Meanwhile, Arlington is already out of playoff contention.

The Jonathan Garibay kickoff went 75 yards and was returned to the San Antonio 35 by Pooka Williams. San Antonio quarterback Quinten Dormady handed to John Lovett for a 7-yard gain, and then handed to Anthony McFarland for a 4-yard run to move the markers. Another handoff to Lovett gained 3 yards, and then Dormady passed short to McFarland who ran 52 yards for a Brahmas touchdown. The one-point conversion attempt was good on a 2-yard Morgan Ellison run, to make the score 7-0 for San Antonio.

Juwan Manigo returned the Ryan Santoso kickoff to the Arlington 27. Arlington quarterback Luis Perez threw deep downfield to J.P. Payton, but the pass was knocked away at the last second. A pass to Tyler Vaughns picked up 12 yards to move the markers, and then Perez handed to De’Veon Smith for a 4-yard gain. A pass to Payton lost a yard, and then on third down, Perez was picked off by Bopete Keyes. After review, it was determine Keyes did not make the catch, and the Renegades were forced to punt.

The Marquette King punt was returned by Marquez Stevenson to the San Antonio 20-yard line. Dormady handed to McFarland for a 3-yard run, and then passed incomplete to Jontre Kirklin. On third down, a 7-yard pass to Cody Latimer moved the markers.

A handoff to McFarland gained one yard, and then Dormady passed deep left to K.D. Cannon for a 32 yard gain to the Arlington 37. Dormady handed to Lovett for a 1 yard gain, and then passed 25 yards to Latimer for a first down on the Arlington 11.

Dormady handed to Ellison for a 5-yard gain, and then handed to Ellison again for 3 more yards. On third down, a pass to Stevenson fell incomplete and the Brahmas settled for a Ryan Santoso 21-yard field goal to make the score 10-0 for San Antonio.

Manigo returned the Santoso kickoff to the Arlington 33. Perez passed short to Vaughns for a 6-yard gain, and then passed again to Vaughns for 5 more yards and a first down. Perez handed to Devin Darrington for a 1-yard run, and then a pass to Darrington lost 5 yards. On third down, a pass to Darrington fell incomplete, and the Renegades were forced to punt.

The King punt was returned by Stevenson to the San Antonio 13. Dormady’s pass to Latimer was incomplete, and then a second pass to Latimer was also incomplete, as the first quarter ended.

Dormady passed 17-yards to Latimer at the San Antonio 47, and then handed to McFarland for a 4-yard loss. Dormady passed 8 yards to Kirklin, and then on third and 6, Dormady scrambled for 16 yards and a first down on the Arlington 33

A pass to Latimer gained 8 yards, and then a McFarland rush went for a 14-yard gain to the Arlington 11. Another handoff to McFarland gained zero yards, and then Lovett rushed 10 yards to the Arlington 2. On third and 1, a Lovett handoff lost one yard. On fourth down, a false start penalty pushed the Brahmas back 5 yards and San Antonio settled for a 26-yard Santoso field goal to make the score 13-0 for San Antonio.

The Santoso kickoff was returned by Joe Powell to the Arlington 25. Perez handed to Smith for a 6-yard gain, and then went back to Smith for a 3-yard run. On third down, a false start penalty pushed the Renegades back 5 yards. Perez completed an 11-yard pass to Sal Cannella to move the chains.

Perez passed deep to Tyler Vaughns for a 43-yard gain to the San Antonio 21. A handoff to Smith gained zero yards, and then a Manigo run gained 4 yards. On third and 6, Perez took a delay of game penalty. Now on third and 12, a pass to Payton gained 8 yards, and the Renegades settled for a 33-yard Garibay field goal to make the score 13-3 for San Antonio.

The Garibay kickoff was returned by Pookah Williams into Renegade territory to the Arlington 46-yard line. Dormady passed 11 yards to Kirklin, and then handed to Morgan Ellison who was tackled hard for a 2-yard loss. A short pass to Anthony McFarland was converted into a 37-yard touchdown. The one-point conversion was good on a 2-yard pass to Kirklin, to make the score 20-3 for San Antonio.

The Santoso kickoff was returned by Powell to the Arlington 27-yard line. Perez’s first pass was intercepted by Corey Mayfield, but a defensive holding penalty negated the play. A pass to Vaughns fell incomplete, and then Perez was sacked for a 10-yard loss as the two-minute warning was announced.

On third and 17, Arlington was penalized for a false start, and then Perez was tackled after a 2-yard scramble. The Renegades were forced to punt.

The King punt was returned by Stevenson to the San Antonio 25-yard line. Dormady passed to Cody Latimer and he turned up field for a 40 yard gain to the Arlington 35.  Dormady was sacked for a 9-yard loss, and then he was sacked again for a 1-yard loss. A handoff to Ellison gained zero yards as the first half ended.

The score at halftime was 20-3 for San Antonio.

The second half began with Powell returning the Santoso kickoff to the Arlington 35. A face masking penalty against San Antonio tacked on 15 yards. Perez passed 3 yards to Cannella, and then handed to Smith for an 8-yard run and a first down. Perez passed to Canella for 9 yards, and the backup quarterback Lyndsey Scott scrambled for a 21-yard gain to the San Antonio 9.

An illegal shift penalty pushed the Renegades back 5 yards, and then Perez passed 14 yards to Cannella in the corner of the end zone for an Arlington touchdown. The two-point conversion failed, making the score 20-9 for San Antonio.

Williams returned the kickoff to the San Antonio 38. Dormady handed to McFarland for a 1-yard gain, and then a pass to Kirklin fell incomplete. Another pass attempt to Kirklin went incomplete, and the Brahmas were forced to punt.

The punt return was muffed but recovered by Arlington on their own 18-yard line. Perez handed to Smith for a 3-yard gain, and then went back to Smith, but an offensive holding penalty pushed the ball back 10 yards. Perez was pressured and flipped the ball to the sideline to avoid a sack. On third and 17, Perez passed 8 yards to Cannella, and the Renegades were forced to punt.

Stevenson took the punt out of bounds at the San Antonio 32-yard line. A pass to Kirklin gained 13 yards, and then a handoff to Lovett gained 5 yards. A defensive offside penalty gave the Brahmas a first down on the Arlington 44.

A handoff to McFarland lost 2 yards, and then a pass to Stevenson gained 3 yards. On third and 9, a pass to Kirklin was incomplete, but a defensive pass interference call gave the Brahmas a first down on the Arlington 28-yard line. A 5-yard pass to Latimer was followed by a Lovett run that gained 5 yards for another first down.

Another Lovett run gained 4 yards, and then a toss to Williams gained 2 yards. On third and 4, Dormady passed to Latimer and he ran for a touchdown. However, San Antonio was called for offensive pass interference and the play was negated. San Antonio head coach Wade Phillips challenged the call and his challenge failed.

On third and 14, Dormady was sacked for an 8-yard loss, and the Brahmas settled for a 48-yard Santoso field goal attempt, which was missed wide to the right.

From his own 38-yard line, Perez passed 4 yards to Cannella, and then handed to Smith for a 4-yard run. On third and 2, a 9-yard catch by Deontay Burnett moved the markers to the San Antonio 45 as the third quarter ended.

Perez handed to Smith for a 1-yard run, and then passed to Smith for no gain. On third down, Perez passed to Cannella for a 9-yard gain and a first down. Perez handed to Smith for a 9-yard run, and then a pass to Payton fell incomplete. A pass to Cannella was incomplete, and then a screen pass to Smith gained 9 yards. A review and measurement determined the Renegades were 13-inches short of a first down. On fourth down, De’Veon Smith was stopped short of a first down. Arlington head coach Bob Stoops challenged the spot of the ball and the challenge failed. The Renegades turned over the ball on downs.

Dormady passed short to McFarland who ran up field for a gain of 27 yards. A handoff to Lovett gained 5 yards, and then a short pass to Kirklin gained 8 yards for a Brahmas first down on the Arlington 41. Dormady handed to Ellison for a 1-yard loss, and then a short pass to McFarland was tipped and fell incomplete. On third and 11, a pass to Kirklin fell incomplete. After the play, an unnecessary roughness penalty against Arlington granted the Brahmas a first down.

Dormady handed to Lovett and he was buried in the backfield for a 2-yard loss, and then he tossed to Kirklin for a 9-yard gain. On third and 3, a pass to McFarland was dropped, and San Antonio settled for a 38-yard Santoso field goal attempt that missed wide right.

From his own 28-yard line, Perez passed to Vaughns for a 10-yard gain and a first down, and then Perez passed to Cannella for a 9-yard gain. A 2-yard pass to Vaughns moved the markers to midfield. A pass intended for Payton fell incomplete, and then a 22-yard catch by Burnett put the ball on the San Antonio 28 as the two-minute warning was announced.

Perez passed incomplete to Cannella, but a defensive holding call gave the Renegades 5 yards. Perez passed 18 yards to Cannella to put the ball on the San Antonio 5-yard line. A Perez pass fell incomplete, and then a pass to Burnett in the end zone could not be caught. On third down, Perez passed to Payton at the back of the end zone for a Renegades touchdown. The two-point conversion attempt failed, making the score 20-15 for San Antonio.

Instead of an onside kick, Arlington opted for a fourth and 12 play from their own 28-yard line. Perez was sacked for a 4-yard loss and the Brahmas took over on downs.

San Antonio went into victory formation and ran out the clock.

The final score was San Antonio Brahmas 20, Arlington Renegades 15.
