Roughnecks Add Six Additional Players to Roster Following Second Round of UFL Player Dispersal Process

HOUSTON, TX – January 15, 2024 – The United Football League, the premier spring football league, has announced the results of today’s second round of the player dispersal process.

The Houston Roughnecks selected six additional players, which included two players from the XFL Conference and four players from the USFL Conference. Among the selected players, the Roughnecks picked up K Luis Aguilar, who was named to the 2023 All-USFL Special Teams and set a record with 94 kicking points with the Philadelphia Stars, beating out current Dallas Cowboys K and former Birmingham Stallions Brandon Aubrey.

Each team selected from a pool of players, regardless of previous league, who were not protected or selected in the Jan. 5 dispersal process. Players selected will have the opportunity to be amongst the 75 roster spots allotted to each team for training camp, which begins on Feb. 24 in Arlington, Texas, the hub of the UFL.

Free agency for players who were not selected in the dispersal process, or who did not play in the USFL or XFL in 2023, begins on Tuesday, Jan. 16. The deadline for teams to lock in their 75 training camp roster spots is Feb. 14.
