The XFL has reported that quarterback Quinton Flowers will be joining the Orlando Guardians of the XFL
In a statement, the league released the following:
“Flowers, 28, joins the XFL after playing in Fan Controlled Football in 2021. He played for the Tampa Bay Vipers in the 2020 version of the XFL, where he was 8-of-15 passing for 106 yards, while rushing for 4.9 yards per carry with a touchdown. Flowers was a three-year starter at the University of South Florida, where he owns 42 career, season or single-game records. He passed for 8,124 yards and 71 touchdowns in his career with the Bulls. He holds the USF and American Athletic Conference records for career total offense (11,802 yards). Flowers was just the fourth player in FBS history to post 8,000 passing and 3,500 rushing yards in a career. Flowers was the AAC Offensive Player of the Year and earned First Team AII-AAC honors in 2016. He was a Second Team AII-AAC performer in 2017. Flowers is a native of Miami and a graduate of Jackson High School.”
Flowers, a Florida fan-favorite, will join the Orlando XFL team as backup to quarterback Paxton Lynch. The Guardians currently have two other quarterbacks on its roster, Deondre Francois who is on their active roster, and Quinten Dormady who is currently on the reserve list.
Earlier today it was independently reported via Orlando Sentinel reporter Matt Murschel that the Guardians head coach Terrell Buckley planned to replace Dormady with a new quarterback.

Buckley said the team is signing another QB to join Paxton Lynch and Deondre Francois. He said it's someone people will be very familiar with.
Dormady’s status is in limbo until the league completes an investigation related to accusations of giving plays to a member of an opposing team. XFLBoard has previously reported how sources have indicated these accusations are completely false. A source close to the situation has now reported that an independent law firm has arrived in Arlington Texas to gather all of the facts.
When asked for more details the league repeated the statement, “The situation is under review, and we will share more details regarding the findings as appropriate.”
It is important to note the league’s mantra refers to the XFL as a “league of opportunity.” This is clearly true for Quinton Flowers who has been granted the opportunity to return to the league. However, this is not currently true for Quinten Dormady, a player who has had his name dragged through the mud, with various media outlets making outlandish claims about this young player. The XFL not only needs to investigate the claims against Dormady, they need to investigate who removed Dormady from the league website, and the person who leaked the damaging (and potentially incorrect) information about the Dormady release to social media.
In XFL week one, as a backup to Paxton Lynch, Dormady completed 12 of 18 for 142 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions, in a loss to South division leading Houston Roughnecks.
