Welcome to our XFL Week 3 – Players of the Week – “Fan’s Choice” results. Voting began immediately at the completion of the final game on Sunday. We gathered over 2400 votes before the closing of polls at 8:00AM Eastern on Tuesday February 7, 2023. We thank all who voted!
Fans were asked to nominate any player they deemed worthy of the honor, in three categories: Offensive, Defensive, and Special teams. Winners below are based on the number of votes received for each player.
XFL Offensive Player of the Week:
#0 Josh Gordon, Wide Receiver, Seattle Sea Dragons
Former NFL Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro wide receiver Josh Gordon made a statement on Saturday night in Las Vegas. On 4th and 2 from their own 35, quarterback Ben DeNucci passed to Josh Gordon for a game winning 65-yard touchdown reception making the score 30-26 for the Sea Dragons. Gordon was the top receiver in the game catching 6 passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns

Honorable Mentions
Brandon Silvers, Quarterback, Houston Roughnecks
- Houston Roughnecks quarterback Brandon Silvers completed 24 of 35 passes for 278 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Houston’s 22-13 victory over the San Antonio Brahmas.
Max Borghi, Running Back, Houston Roughnecks
- Playing through an injury, Borghi was instrumental to the Roughnecks offense, carrying the ball 15 times for 74 yards.
XFL Defensive Player of the Week:
#17 Davin Bellamy, Defensive Lineman, DC Defenders
In the DC Defenders victory over the Battlehawks, Davin Bellamy was a defensive machine, racking up 5 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 tackles for a loss and one forced fumble.
The fans said:
- Bellamy sacked A.J. McCarron and force a fumble. (Isaac)
- Bellamy had five tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss, and most important he forced a fumble to stop the Battlehawks drive late in the third. (Mark)
- Bellamy anchored a tough Defenders defense that got even tougher when they had to (PJ)

Michael Joseph, Defensive Back, DC Defenders
- Joseph had five tackles, and one interception for a touchdown. (TP)

Ajene Harris, Cornerback, Houston Roughnecks
- Had key interception in the Roughnecks’ victory over the Brahmas. (XFLFAN)
- Ajene Harris has an interception in all three games for the Roughnecks. He’s a sniper! (Mike)
XFL Special Teams Player of the Week:
#11 Darrius Shepherd, Wide Receiver, St. Louis Battlehawks
In a hard fought game against the DC Defenders, St. Louis Battlehawks kickoff returner Darrius Shepherd had five returns for 190 yards, with the longest being a 72-yard romp that he almost broke open for a major.
