The following is a team-by-team recap of UFL free-agency signings from Feb. 8 and Feb. 12.

Please note that this will not include players protected going into the Dispersal Draft process who have since “agreed to terms” with the UFL or players selected during one of the Dispersal Drafts who have since “agreed to terms” with the UFL – as these players have already been listed on their respective teams’ rosters and do not fit under the category of free-agent signings.

Arlington Renegades

  • QB Drew Plitt

Drew Plitt started the first two games of the 2023 XFL season for the Renegades but struggled and was benched for Kyle Sloter in week three. After that, Plitt only saw action in two more contests before landing on the Injured Reserve to finish the season. Overall, he went 61-for-101 passing with 499 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions thrown. The former Ball State quarterback signed with the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad after Joe Burrow went down with a season-ending injury but has not signed a futures contract – allowing him to rejoin Arlington.

Outlook: Plitt joins a young quarterback room featuring Lindsey Scott Jr. and Holton Ahlers. Meanwhile, the status of Luis Perez, who joined the Renegades late last season and led them to a championship, remains unknown.

Birmingham Stallions

  • DT Caleb Sampson

Caleb Sampson became a starter midway through his sophomore season at the University of Kansas and continued in the role for three more seasons. In 46 collegiate games, he totaled 77 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks. He went through training camp last year with the Indianapolis Colts after they picked him up as an undrafted free agent.

Outlook: Sampson joins a stacked Stallions’ defensive line and will need to rely on his athleticism and 6-3 305 lbs frame to secure a roster spot.

Houston Roughnecks

  • OC Isaac Weaver

Isaac Weaver signed with the Birmingham Stallions in the offseason last year but came out of the Post-Merger Player Allocation Process as a free agent. He was a four-year starter at Old Dominion – starting 48 consecutive games to close his collegiate career. He spent time with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2022.

Outlook: Weaver is listed as a center along with Jack Kramer and Nick Buchanan on the Roughnecks. However, his versatility with experience playing the tackle position in college can give him an advantage in securing a roster spot.
