With the victory, the Brahmas clinched the final spot remaining in the UFL playoffs. It will be San Antonio’s first postseason appearance, and they can still clinch the number one seed in the XFL Conference in the final two weeks of the season. The Brahmas currently sit in a first-place tie with St. Louis at 6-2.
The Brahmas got a key piece of their offense back this week in running back Anthony McFarland Jr. making his return from injury. McFarland Jr. made his biggest impact in the receiving game, as he scored a 52-yard catch-and-run touchdown on San Antonio’s first drive of the game. It was the longest play of the season for the Brahmas. He followed it up with a 37-yard receiving score close to halftime. McFarland Jr. set individual game highs for touchdown receptions (2), receiving yards (118) and all-purpose yards (136). His 118 receiving yards, 113 YAC, rank fifth in the league for most in a game this season.
Quinten Dormady had a career performance with 320 passing yards, a new individual game high, and two touchdowns. 250 of those yards came in the first half, which is the most in the first half by a San Antonio quarterback this season. Dormady is the second quarterback in the league to throw for 300+ yards in a game, joining Adrian Martinez (BHAM) who did it twice. Dormady led the Brahmas offense to average 6.7 yards per play, a new team game high.
The Brahmas starting tight end Cody Latimer recorded 116 receiving yards on six receptions, with 110 of those yards coming in the first half. Latimer’s performance ranks sixth in the league for most receiving yards in a game this season. His longest reception of the game was for 40 yards under the first half two-minute warning.
