Houston, TX – February 5, 2024 – The United Football League announced the schedule for its inaugural season today, with the Houston Roughnecks kicking off their season at 2 p.m. CT Sunday, March 31 at Rice Stadium vs. the Memphis Showboats.
“I can’t think of a better way to kick off the 2024 UFL season than at home in Houston, at iconic Rice Stadium, in front of thousands of Houston Roughnecks fans,” said Houston Roughnecks Head Coach CJ Johnson. “I hope all Houstonians will mark their calendars for Sunday, March 31, and join us, as we protect the ‘Rig!’”
The first Roughneck game will be broadcast on ESPN. Other games will be broadcast on ABC, FOX, ESPN, FS1 and ESPN2.
Games on ESPN and ABC will be streamed on ESPN+ and FOX games will stream on the FOX Sports App. All games will be streamed via TV Everywhere.
“Through the combined reach of our partners at FOX and ESPN – who both share a commitment to broadcast innovation – the UFL will now have exceptional platforms through which fans can experience spring football,” said Russ Brandon, UFL President/CEO.
“We are equally excited to welcome new and returning fans back into our buildings this season so they can immerse themselves in the energy around spring football.” Brandon said. “Our players are here to perform and to reach the next level and our fans are going to be treated to an excellent on-field product and in-stadium experience.”
The League is divided into two conferences: USFL (Birmingham Stallions, Houston Roughnecks, Memphis Showboats, Michigan Panthers) and XFL (Arlington Renegades, D.C. Defenders, San Antonio Brahmas, St. Louis Battlehawks). Each team will play six in-conference games and four inter-conference matchups. The Conference Championships will pit the top two teams with the best records in their respective conferences against each other.

Beginning on Monday, Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. CT, current Season Ticket Members with money already on their account for 2024 will have the first opportunity to select their seats for the Roughnecks’ 2024 season at Rice Stadium, before season tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, Feb. 12. New deposit holders who have placed a 2024 Season Ticket Membership deposit will also have priority to select their seat location(s) starting Friday, Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. CT.
