On January 17, 2025, the Arlington Renegades made significant moves to enhance their team for the upcoming United Football League (UFL) season. The team has signed three players, each bringing unique experience and talent to the squad: Garrett McGhin (T), Kalen Ballage (RB), and Myles Dorn (S).

Garrett McGhin – Offensive Tackle

Garrett McGhin, an experienced offensive tackle, returns to the Arlington Renegades after missing the previous season due to an injury sustained during training camp. McGhin is no stranger to the team, having been a part of their championship-winning squad in 2023. His return is anticipated to bolster the offensive line, which was one of the strongest aspects of the team in past seasons. McGhin’s NFL pedigree includes stints with the Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Giants, showcasing his versatility and resilience. His signing is seen as a move to strengthen the line’s depth and performance, especially after a season where injuries were a concern.

Kalen Ballage – Running Back

Adding to the Renegades’ offensive firepower is Kalen Ballage, a running back who most recently played for the XFL’s San Antonio Brahmas. Ballage’s experience in both the NFL and various spring leagues brings a dynamic element to Arlington’s backfield. Known for his combination of speed and power, Ballage aims to provide a versatile option in the running game and potentially in pass-catching situations. His signing is particularly timely as the Renegades look to improve their rushing attack, which has shown signs of inconsistency in previous seasons. Ballage’s addition could be pivotal in providing a new dimension to the team’s offensive strategy.

Myles Dorn – Safety

Myles Dorn joins the Renegades as a safety, enhancing the team’s defensive backfield. Having NFL experience with the Minnesota Vikings, Dorn brings both professional insight and athletic prowess to Arlington’s defense. His signing is part of a broader strategy to fortify the secondary, which had a challenging 2024 season, ranking near the bottom in defensive standings. Dorn’s ability to read plays and his physicality on the field are expected to contribute significantly to improving the team’s defensive performance. His presence could also help in mentoring younger players, adding experience to the Renegades’ roster.

  1. Also Garrett McGhin was ALL-USFL with the Generals in 2022. With the amount of former Generals remaining in the game it would seem there was something to that team. I wish Garrett continued success. A real gamer.
