Seattle Dragons quarterback Brandon Silvers has always been one of the most overlooked quarterbacks. With a very respectful stat line in his time as a Dragon, Silvers should be viewed as potentially one of the most underrated quarterbacks on the market.
Dominant in Death Valley
In college, Silvers played for Troy University, an FBS program in the Sun Belt. But, that did not stop him from beating big teams. Silvers and his Troy Trojans walked into Death Valley at Louisiana State University and beat them, in a 24-21 defeat.
“Beating LSU was a great win and an awesome night. And it’s better now that they won the championship two years later,” Silvers said.
The accolades built for Silvers as he capped off his college football career playing in the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Silvers was selected to the Seattle Dragons in the initial assignment of eight quarterbacks, one to each XFL team. Prior to this, Silvers had never been to the Emerald City.
“It felt good to still be wanted and to play out in Seattle which was a place I’ve never been to so I thought it was cool to live out on the west coast for a few months. Besides the rain ha ha,” Silvers remembered.
The XFL was a great chance to connect with his Dragons teammates. “My favorite XFL memory would just be hanging with my buddies on the team, Dillon Day, Kirk Barron and Austin Proehl,” Silvers recalled. “Hanging with those guys was always a good time.”

The Dragons quarterback battle was won by Silvers, who earned the starting gig for the season. In the first game against the DC Defenders, he came out and had a three-touchdown game in the loss.
One of the most exciting moments had to be when the Seattle crowd was chanting “BJ” for the backup quarterback, and Silvers quelled the crowd up with a monstrous 68-yard touchdown pass against the Tampa Bay Vipers.
Love how @Bsilv_12 stays cool when the home crowd was chanting for backup QB and former Seahawk BJ Daniels to come into the game. Silvers is easily one of the most underrated quarterbacks. He deserves a NFL shot. pic.twitter.com/E77eY5rLR4

After the game, Silvers even talked about hearing the chants, and how it didn’t affect him. He just used it as fuel to get better and just play football.
Silvers would play in four of the five Dragons games, he would pass for 539 yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions with a 70.7 quarterback rating.
Six touchdowns in four games, not even four full games is good no matter how you look at it. If the full season was played he could have potentially thrown in the ballpark of 12-14 touchdowns if not more.
Looking for another shot
At the moment Silvers is a free agent that he is ready to go when he receives the call.
“I have always worked out and stayed in shape so I’m always ready to go.” Silvers said.
Silvers has a great arm and a very accurate passer. Prior to the Dragons, he has been with the Memphis Express of the AAF, the New York Jets, and in camps with the Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints.
If the time is right in 2022, Silvers says, “Yes I feel like I can still play and I’ll give it another go in 2022. And yes I am ready to play whenever I get the call.”
A potential XFL return for Silvers would be amazing if an NFL opportunity is not present.
