XFL D.C. Defenders Lucky Jackson signed by the Vikings

Ex-D.C. Defender wide receiver Dontavian “Lucky” Jackson has been signed by the Vikings, as was announced on Tuesday. Jackson played ten games for the Defenders, racking up an impressive 36 receptions for 572 yards and five touchdowns.

Before joining the XFL, Jackson played for the CFL’s Edmonton Elks in 2022, and The Spring League in 2021.

Jackson was raised in Lexington, Kentucky, and attended Lafayette High School for his prep work.

After redshirting in 2015, he played collegiate football for Western Kentucky, compiling 209 receptions for 2,680 yards and 13 touchdowns in 51 games. His overall yardage is third all-time, and his career catches are second in school history.

A 16-catch game at Marshall and a 17-reception performance against Western Michigan saw Jackson finish his stint at Western Kentucky with 94 catches (seventh in FBS that season) and 1,133 yards, earning SERVPRO First Responder Bowl MVP honors.
