UFLPA: Resolution on Individual Player Bonuses Grievance

On May 16, 2024 the United Football League Players Association made the following statement, essentially ending a dispute with the league regarding player of the week bonuses:

MAY 16, 2024
WE HAVE COME TO A RESOLUTION FOLLOWING A RECENT DECISION FROM A GRIEVANCE FILED BY OUR UNION IN REGARD TO INDIVIDUAL PLAYER BONUSES. THE UFL HAS AGREED TO INCREASE THE “ALL UFL TEAM” COMPENSATION POOL IN LIEU OF PAYING OUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK BONUSES FOR THE 2024 SEASON.

OUR EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AGREED TO NEGOTIATE HOW WEEKLY PLAYER BONUSES WILL BE SELECTED DURING OFFSEASON BARGAINING. IT IS OUR MISSION TO ENSURE THERE IS A FAIR AND REASONABLE PROCESS WHEN “PLAYER OF THE WEEK” DESIGNATIONS ARE MADE GOING FORWARD. POSTSEASON BONUSES WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR 2024 ALL UFL, PLAYER OF THE YEAR, AND MVP HONOREES.

Essentially, the compensation will come to players in the form of an increase to the “All UFL Team” bonuses which they have already agreed to pay out to players.

The UFLPA plans to renegotiate these compensations in off-season bargaining sessions.
