With a 4-6 record and failing to make the playoffs, the 2024 D.C. Defenders did not meet the lofty expectations that were set for them after a 2023 season that ended with a loss in the XFL Championship. While certain individual players shined and became stars with D.C. last year, the team as a whole struggled to maintain consistency on both sides of the ball. Over the offseason, the Defenders have brought in some notable names that can hopefully step in next season and help the team get back to its 2023 championship contending status.

The following is a brief player-by-player breakdown of each of the new players who have signed to play for the Defenders next year. Note, this does not include players who were active on the team last year that have re-signed for next season.
