The D.C. Defenders added interior offensive lineman Bruno Reagan to their roster earlier this week in wake of the numerous injuries they’ve faced at the position. Starters Mike Maietti, Ty Clary, and Cody Conway have already been ruled out for Saturday’s Week Three matchup against St. Louis, while right tackle T.J. Storment is probable with an illness.
Totally unrelated to the ongoing game, but the D.C. Defenders are to sign C Bruno Reagan, pending his physical.
Reagan played college ball at Vanderbilt before stints with the St. Louis Battlehawks of the 2020 #XFL and the #USFL last season.

The newcomer Reagan played college ball at Vanderbilt, where he started 40 consecutive games to close out his career. The 6-3 315 lbs lineman was able to help with blocking duties both from the center and guard positions with the Commodores and has since demonstrated that versatility in various spring leagues.
Reagan reunites with quarterback Jordan Ta’amu who he played with on the St. Louis Battlehawks during the 2020 XFL season. With the Battlehawks, Reagan served as the starting right guard for five games before the season shut down. Interestingly enough, he and Ta’amu reunited on the Tampa Bay Bandits of the USFL last season, where Reagan was the center.
With the Defenders, Reagan will likely serve as the center after starter Mike Maietti and backup Ty Clary went down in Weeks One and Two of the season respectively, leaving D.C. center-less.
Regarding the rest of the line, left tackle Cody Conway’s injury means former Green Bay Packer Kyle Murphy needs to step up and fulfill blindside blocking duties. If T.J. Storment doesn’t play due to his illness, then it’ll be JUCO product D’Marcus Hayes filling his shoes. Guards Liam Fornadel and Liam Ryan have done a great job on the interior opening holes for the run game, which tallied 219 yards last week against the Vipers.
So far on the season, the Defenders offensive line has conceded ten tackles for loss and two sacks. We’ll see how the latest shakeup to the line affects blocking against the 2-0 St. Louis Battlehawks on Sunday. As for Reagan, he’s just grateful for another shot.
-doesn’t make it past mini camp in NFL, think it’s over
-XFL happens
-Covid shuts it down, think it’s over
-USFL comes back – another opportunity
-released, think it’s over
-XFL comes back, ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY.Almost 5 years of post college football now. So lucky and grateful
