The XFL champion Arlington Renegades continued adding to their roster with Monday’s Super-Dispersal Draft, selecting five players.

With yesterday’s draft, the Renegades now stand at 60 players rostered. And with training camp rosters capped at 75 players per team, they’ll have room to add up to 15 more players during free agency – which opened today.

The following is a player-by-player breakdown of each of the Renegades’ selections from yesterday’s draft.

TE Jared Scott

With their first-round pick, the Renegades selected tight end Jared Scott, who spent 2023 with the New Orleans Breakers. While Scott only logged one reception with the Breakers last season, he was crucial in their league-best rushing attack.

Despite not being utilized in the passing game with New Orleans, he proved he could be a pass-catcher during his collegiate career – recording 65 receptions for 785 yards and nine touchdowns over five seasons which he spent at Wyoming, Prairie View A&M, Jacksonville State, and Idaho State.

Scott spent time with the Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He is currently the only tight end listed on the Renegades’ roster.

WR Calvin Jackson

The Renegades drafted wide receiver Calvin Jackson with their second-round pick. Jackson was initially claimed in October by the Seattle Sea Dragons before they dissolved with the merger.

Jackson spent four seasons at Washington State after transferring from Independence Community College – totaling 104 career receptions for 1,403 yards and 10 touchdowns in 31 games. He earned Second-Team All-Pac 12 honors and had been named to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List (Most Outstanding Receiver) during his final collegiate season in 2021, which was a breakout year for him.

Slightly undersized for his position at 5-9 193 lbs, Jackson makes up for it with his quickness and burst. He has experience lining up both on the outside and in the slot from college.

CB Nasir Greer

The Renegades brought back cornerback Nasir Greer with their third-round pick, who spent the entirety of last season with Arlington on the Injured Reserve. Greer is a promising young cornerback out of Wake Forest, where he spent four years from 2018 to 2021. He was an All-ACC Honorable Mention in 2019 and a Third-Team All-ACC choice in 2020.

Greer’s familiarity with the Renegades’ defensive system from last year could give him an advantage in competing with newcomers for a starting corner spot – with both starters from last season not returning.

LB B.J. Bello

The Renegades chose linebacker B.J. Bello, who joined the Philadelphia Stars midway through their 2023 season, with their fourth-round pick. Bello has spent time with eight different NFL teams since going undrafted in 2017 out of Illinois State and has racked up 20 tackles in his NFL career.

Bello adds depth at the outside linebacker position in the Renegades’ 3-4 defensive scheme behind returning starters Will Clarke and Willie Taylor.

WR Juwan Manigo

Wide receiver Juwan Manigo wraps up the Renegades’ Super-Dispersal Draft class. Manigo had initially been claimed by Arlington in June but went unprotected entering the player allocation process, making him eligible for this draft. He was the LFA leading receiver during the 2023 season – racking up 53 catches for 1,053 yards and nine touchdowns.

Nicknamed “Sonic,” his speed is what he’ll have to rely on to get him a spot on the Renegades’ 50-man roster.
