Pittsburgh Maulers vs. Michigan Panthers (at Canton)
Saturday, June 24, 8 p.m. ET -NBC: Prediction, Mich in upset, 39pts, 1050 viewers
Birmingham Stallions vs. New Orleans Breakers (at Birmingham)
Sunday, June 25, 7 p.m. ET -Fox: Prediction, Birm, 50 pts, 950 viewers
This week Fox has a Detroit Tigers-MLB game on opposite the Panthers? on Saturday night. No break for USFL there. Tigers 9 games below 500 hopefully Panthers get the local viewers. Pirates on at 4pm and lost 9 straight not an issue Saturday. Sunday night Baseball-ESPN LAD vs Houston, big game but West Coast should have less impact than NYY /Boston.
So hopefully better ratings...
Saturday sports competition - ESPN College WS, Fox MLB (Detroit included), AEW
Sunday sports competition - NBC Nascar Ally 400, ESPN SNB-MLB

Re: USFL Division Playoff Week predictions:
I'd love to see anywhere near 1M for the playoffs. I was out of country last year during the playoffs and I was never able to find the TV ratings online. Do you know what the USFL got for the playoff round last year?

Re: USFL Division Playoff Week predictions:
Yes - also Showbuzz as source:
2022 Division round (June 25th)
NBC - 998k - 8pm South
FOX - 957k - 3pm North
2022 Championship 1,517k July 3rd 7:30pm
In 2023, No NJ divisional round and no Philly Div and Championship plus Tigers game on Fox against Mich / Maulers.
I hope they can get 1mm+ avg but as earlier stated, 3mm for the 3 games gives them 632k avg for season.

780k viewers for the prelims last night. It may adjust up a bit, but should be well below 1 million. Lowest rated program of the big 4 networks last night

Re: USFL Division Playoff Week predictions:
Yeah, that's a bit (or more than a bit) disappointing. It was not great to have Fox MLB with Detroit Tigers opposite the USFL... that was not a good sign for Detroit market. Also lack of coverage on PFT isn't helpful. But still no major competition.laxtreme56 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2023 3:00 pm 780k viewers for the prelims last night. Here's an hourly breakdown of the ratings... same 3 hour average and the same 35-40 min at 11pm is also not included. They do tend to pick up with the full ratings in... lets hope for same here. Last year prelimns at 950k actuals 998k.
It started higher, dropped in 2nd hour and picked up in 3rd - That was weird. 2nd hour really hurt, Hopefully Fox does better tonight.

Prelims Birm v NOLA: USFL Division Playoff Week predictions:
Well the Sunday blowout prelims did about as well as the Saturday super game... 766k average.
USFL on Fox tends to gain with actuals... wasn't and exciting game so if they top 800k that's good, lets see how they do. The Saturday prelims were more disappointing to me.
Sunday - underperforming prelim viewer #s )but understandable due to game action. The hold was pretty amazing

Actuals: USFL Division Playoff Week
Ratings:
Pittsburgh Maulers vs. Michigan Panthers (at Canton)
Saturday, June 24, 8 p.m. ET -NBC: Actual 957k, after low prelims of 780 this picked up 177k, pretty much in line with 2022
Birmingham Stallions vs. New Orleans Breakers (at Birmingham)
Sunday, June 25, 7 p.m. ET -Fox: Actual 852k, after low prelims of 766 this picked up 86k, considering the game was over at the half... the USFL got lucky here...
In fact after the preliminaries of 770k range for both games, and a blow out.. averaging over 900k per game was pretty good! Still if Birm game was close could have seen 1mm.
2023 playoff Avg 905k; 2022 playoff avg was 978k;
2023 XFL playoff Avg was 577k
