Re: QB Salaries 2023
The BC Lions coach Campbell said Rourke would've made more money in the CFL than in what he is making sitting on an NFL practice squad and that doesn't include endorsement deals on the side

99% of guys would rather ride the pine in the NFL than be the star of alternative football. The CFL isn't alternative football. The CFL is a stand alone football league that's been around for close to 70 years. Rourke will back in the CFL once the Jags draft a QB. It's an alternative to the NFL, aka the big dog. The AHL has been around for 75 years or so, but nobody grows up wanting to win the Calder cup for the Toronto MarliesDavedaHammer wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 3:48 pmThe CFL isn't alternative football. Re: QB Salaries 2023
The CFL is uniquely different that isn't hyped up like the NFL is. The CFL and the NFL were on par to each other the 80's came along and US Networks gave the NFL a rich TV contracts. Canadians dreamt of winning the Allen Cup just as much as the Stanley Cup when both trophies were the highest team award in Canada. The Calder Trophy is a awarded to US minor league winners.laxtreme56 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 5:09 pmIt's an alternative to the NFL, aka the big dog. How long for the NFL to be "the big dog". They are pricing themselves out of expansion,(who's going to pay over 7 billions dollars for an expensive toy for status), pricing themselves out of the regular Football fans,(a family of 4 can't go to a NFL game)compromise the game's integrity with players gambling on their own games(see Calvin Ridley and the 4 Lions players suspended. I can understand players from "alternative" leagues gambling on Football since they don't make as much as the NFL players do)
Mark Cuban said "Pigs get fat, Hogs get slaughtered" about the NFL. He might be right about them

Expect qb salaries to raise now that the NFL draft is over Rourke is coming back on a big money deal because the Jaguars drafted all the quarterbacks in the draft also expect Rourke to fire his agent for picking the wrong team and wrecking his NFL dreams and that's that

Re: QB Salaries 2023
Rourke ain't coming back. He'll be just a practice roster chaser like Streveler. Left a lot of money by not playing in the CFL. Rourke would've made a killing through endorsements in Canada. He sabotaged his brother's chance to be drafted into the CFL. Rourke better hope he has enough money to carry his new bride, brother and parents on a NFL entry salary(no new home for the parents for sacrificing their time and expense fulfilling his "dream")KJE wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2023 8:49 pm Expect qb salaries to raise now that the NFL draft is over Rourke is coming back on a big money deal because the Jaguars drafted all the quarterbacks in the draft also expect Rourke to fire his agent for picking the wrong team and wrecking his NFL dreams and that's that
Besides, it's never too late for the Jags to acquire a QB through signing a XFL or USFL QB, waiver claim or sign a guy from another practice roster

Re: QB Salaries 2023
How do you know he'd make a killing in endorsements? The last CFL player who made a substantial endorsement salary was Doug Flutie over 30 years ago. Nobody threw big bucks at Ricky Ray to be on the Wheaties cover and doubt Rourke was going to see any of that either. He'll be making $1M a year in the NFL soon enough.DavedaHammer wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2023 10:51 pmRourke ain't coming back. He'll be just a practice roster chaser like Streveler. He would've made endorsement deals through league sponsors like Save-On Foods, Purolator, Sports Interaction, WestJet, and non league sponsors ike Canadian Tire, Tim Horton's or other BC Lions owner Amar Doman's business properties. He signed with a lazy agentlaxtreme56 wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 9:46 amHow do you know he'd make a killing in endorsements? Ricky Ray never lived in Canada full time, so he had no investment in the CFL community or in the country of Canada.
Rourke's not making a million now and won't be get Lamar Jackson bucks anytime soon. He's just another guy, a warm body camp. Rourke will be lucky to end up like Chris Streveler at the end
