It's gettin' hot in here...and we about to burn 'em up!
Looks like the 2020 XFL champion may be 2-3 seconds short of playing a full season

Some (all?) of these options might be better if they threw "Emerald" or "Sea" in front of the name to make them sound less generic.
Seattle Emerald Dragons
Seattle Sea Dragons
Seattle Emerald Force
Seattle Sea Force
Seattle Emerald Fury
Seattle Sea Fury
Seattle Emerald Surge
Seattle Sea Surge
I'll just leave "Wild" alone...

Trademark lawyer Josh Gerben @JoshGerben posted this tweet and video analyzing the trademarks filed for XFL Seattle.

The old Sacramento Surge had a Sonics vibe when the jerseys got wet.
And for fun, here's XFL Tampa assistant Billy Parker as a member of the New York Dragons:

Nicely done.
The names can grow on me. I suppose. The branding and logos are key. Dragons and Surge kind of fall in line with the usual Seattle team color schemes.

SeattleWild.com is available for purchase, so I think we can narrow this down to 4. Also, I wouldn’t be totally surprised if it was none of these 5 names.

That’s always a possibility. What’s unique about the filing, is that it’s from nearly two weeks ago. It’s not rare for leagues or franchises to trademark multiple names. It’s rare for the trademark filing, to take two weeks to be posted.Shooter McGav1n wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:12 pm SeattleWild.com is available for purchase, so I think we can narrow this down to 4. My 2 cents:
Dragons has the potential for best logo and uniform imo.
Sea Dragons
Emerald Dragons don't work for me becuz it's too long to enunciate.
Force
Wild
Surge
These could be used for any team in any sport. So I don't like them.
Seattle Dragons seems best coming off the tongue to me.
On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being BEST and 1 being PLEASE SHOOT ME. I'd give it a 5.

SeattleWild.com is for sale. SeattleDragons.com redirects to SeattleHockeyNames.com. SeattleForce.com and SeattleFury.com can't be reached. The only one that works is SeattleSurge.com, which is an actual page that says "coming soon." If that's not a hint I don't know what is.Shooter McGav1n wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:12 pm SeattleWild.com is available for purchase, so I think we can narrow this down to 4. I'm kinda hoping for "non of the above" and wouldn't be surprised either. The names seem very generic. Maybe (no trademark expertise) they were released to the public early because they have been ruled out and/or to create some buzz.MikeMitchell wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:17 pmThat’s always a possibility.
