Gee that wouldn't have been the Blues game seven win over the Bruins in 2019 (the last one to date) would it?
no it was game 6 in 2015

the game you are referring to almost hit 9 million though

so thanks for pointing that out

Canada's participation in the Stanley Cup Final attracted plenty of interest as Game 1 between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers on Saturday drew a 43% increase in ratings across North America over last season.According to the NHL, the championship series opener had an audience of 7.1 million viewers across the United States and Canada combined.
4 million of those viewers were from Canada. Nobody is denying the great white North would watch. Game 1 lost out to the Belmont Stakes. The series will average at or around 3.5M as predicted

Right in range as predicted for game three.  3.4mm viewers.  And its on broadcast when most are on cable.

>>  Stanley Cup Final viewership continues to easily outpace last year’s all-cable series.Thursday’s Panthers-Oilers NHL Stanley Cup Final Game 3 averaged a 1.8 rating and 3.4 million viewers on ABC, up 31% in ratings and 25% in viewership from Golden Knights-Panthers on TNT, TBS and truTV last year (1.4, 2.7M), but down 18% in both measures from Avalanche-Lightning in 2022 (2.2, 4.1M).  <<

>>  Stanley Cup Final viewership continues to trend up, even though Saturday’s Edmonton blowout trailed the two prior games.

Saturday’s Panthers-Oilers NHL Stanley Cup Final Game 4 averaged a 1.4 rating and 3.1 million viewers on ABC, per Nielsen fast-nationals — up 15% in ratings and 20% in viewership from Golden Knights-Panthers on TNT, TBS and truTV last year (1.2, 2.56M) but down 43% and 33% respectively from the previous Game 4 on ABC, Avalanche-Lightning in 2022 (2.4, 4.60M).  <<

8-1 and still had some viewers - that gives me hope for the UFL one sided championship.

Also another game falling neatly into the 2.5-3.5mm range as expected.

This year's Stanley Cup Final averaged 8.8 million viewers across North America, up 85 percent year-over-year, and was the most-watched Stanley Cup Final across the continent since 2013, per the NHL.

!st North America is not USA....

As far as USA...Going from a 3-0 to a game 7 slug fest definitely pushed them over the 2.5-3.5mm target.  Thru game 6 they were averaging 3.6mm - right on target.

So kudos to Edmonton for delivering a comeback (almost) for the ages which got the series avg up to 4.2mm - again all on ABC - thanks to game 7 getting 7.7mm, with sports TV all to themselves.

Not totally to themselves, ESPN had Tennessee over TAMU in the College World Series.

Which I'm guessing with the SCF back on TNT that the UFLCG ends up on ABC if they do the alternate thing. They could conceivably air three championships next June (NBA Finals, UFLCG, CWS), that'd be good from a prestige standpoint--the 'part of' strategy is never a bad thing unless it's obvious you're sitting here trying to tag along where no one wants you.
