SA Places K-Deestroying and C-Mollette on IR

Post by 4th&long »

Not great news fro SA...

https://pfnewsroom.com/news/brahmas-pla ... d-reserve/

>> Some unfortunate news broke for the San Antonio Brahmas tonight. Kicker Donald De La Haye Jr. (Deestroying), and Center Alex Mollette were both placed on the injured reserve list after suffering injuries during their game against the Memphis Showboats.
~
For now, “Project NFL” is on hold. Donald De La Haye Jr., aka “Deestroying”, has been placed on IR. This likely stems from the tackle he made on Trey Williams in their game against the Showboats. Donald can be seen coming up gingerly, as his tackling form isn’t up to par with professional standards. This isn’t surprising, considering he hasn’t played true football for several years.<<

During the game you could hear something happened with K-Deestroying,   Shame on Mollette too after that week 1 Thick-6

Oh man, that stinks, I hope both of them (and all the other injured hard working players) can come back later in the season and shine.

That's a BFD, Big E (who was an MC for all the Panthers home games last year, and an ex-Iowa LB) will probably have to retire from his neck injury two years ago which he still isn't entirely right from. That sucks, get well D. You definitely proved your spot wasn't just a lame celebrity gimmick (as I said in week 1).

Also as much as I'm not a fan of the Dragons being cast aside this also makes me think of how Seahawks fans treated Sebastian Janikowski for not tackling Richie James in 2018, a big "oh yeah" (and he ended up tearing his hamstring in his final game to boot). I mean sure Josh Brown straight-upped Devin Hester once but considering how things ended up with him you really think that's a good idea?

One of the silliest ideas that has ever crossed my mind as a football rule has been one where a team can send 12 men onto the field for a kickoff, but that the kicker would not be fully padded, would not be allowed to make contact with any other player, and would have to exit the field of play as soon as possible after the ball was kicked. You think of the people like Bjorn Nittmo who scrambled their brains trying to cover kickoffs but weren't skilled enough to play proper defense—something we saw on full display here. Ironically, the XFL kickoff formation that Moose so detested (and the NFL is now adopting) would make such a rule far more plausible. It'd also be a way to bring more inexperienced but raw talent into the pro game... even, perhaps, women—though the question of whether one would have the kind of leg to make it plausible hasn't ever been decided.

Also, if I'm Jake Bates, I'm hoping and praying that the kickoff team is able to do its job and I don't have to risk my future NFL payout.
