The STL number is a bit disappointing, especially this being four years in the making (the BattleHawks showdown in 2020 that wasn't). Lends credence to the theory that if they'd started this past weekend instead of Easter they'd be in a stronger position.

I wouldn't be surprised if a good number of fans in attendance were Nielsen rated households which brought the numbers down a bit. Either way a 20% dropoff is good compared to the 40% or more we typically see in week 2

The most the 40k in attendance could drop the viewership is.... 40k. ABC underperformed. High attendance has no apparent impact on increasing viewership. Larger TV markets, TV competition and weather do, But this was primetime game, should have done better but no sky is falling bad, just under performed.
One Nielsen household could represent ~20k additional viewers. In theory 5 Nielsen members at the Battlehawks game could have cost an additional 100k viewers
Here's a good comparison for the league, FCS postseason ratings. This far, the UFL and spring football in general is in the same ballpark or even slightly better than many of these ratings.

That is...definitely an excuse I have not heard before.
I believe these numbers are quite a bit better then the XFL's numbers on Final Four weekend last year. Throw in the popularity of the Women's tournament this year and those numbers look even better, IMO.

Come on now.
As far as the bold. Absolutely - the hold was better than many naysers were thinking which was that 30-40% drop. And next week may be an increase with no CBB / WCBB and 3 broadcast...

I forgot to add, Saturday night also had one of the most anticipated Wrestlemanias in history. Sunday's women's championship drew 18 million.
Let's see what it looks like in the coming weeks before we rush to any conclusions.
