We are now onto the fifth year of my tracking futures contract signings from NFL practice squads, in an effort to see what NFL-level talent may be available for UFL teams in the lead-up to the kickoff in March. I've also marked in here, where applicable, which UFL teams still have that player's rights.
A bit of copy and paste from past years for our refresher on what exactly all this nonsense is: These are the players who ended the season on each non-playoff team's practice squad (I'll add the playoff teams as they're eliminated). Teams can begin signing players to futures contracts the day after the end of their season - after a week, practice squad contracts expire and players not signed to futures deals become free agents. The names in bold will be those signed to futures deals with that team. Sometimes teams will sign other street free agents to futures contracts too; I'll include them as well. If a player's practice squad contract expires with one team and they end up signing with another, I'll note that. Some players will sign futures deals with teams still in the playoffs; those will be reflected here once that team's season ends. This will be updated daily as transactions come across the wire.
A link to last year's list, and some notable names that ended up in the XFL (and USFL) in 2023:

Re: NFL Practice Squad/Futures Contract Tracker 2024
A few things:
- Trysten Hill is still in the league! He was an underwhelming player in Dallas and was considered a reach when he was drafted in the second round in the 2019 NFL Draft. He was apparently someone who former DC Rod Marinelli wanted, but he didn't fit in Dan Quinn's scheme.
- If the Giants want to bring Mason Crosby back, they will give him a regular deal at the veteran minimum at kicker, however, it doesn't seem like he has anything left in the tank so he may choose to retire for good.
- It will be interesting to see if Drew Plitt and EJ Perry return to their UFL teams. Or if Sean Mannion has interest.

Re: NFL Practice Squad/Futures Contract Tracker 2024
I really would like to see EJ Perry return to Michigan. I think he will benefit as will the UFL. Futures contracts are iffy.GDAWG wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 1:12 am A few things:

Re: NFL Practice Squad/Futures Contract Tracker 2024
Updated to include teams that lost this weekend (tonight's game pending). Interesting to see a lot of non-playoff teams haven't signed many to futures deals yet. With UFL free agency beginning tomorrow, that's something to watch, especially as the PS contracts of those from non-playoff teams who didn't sign futures contracts yet expired today.

The news and signings are coming fast and furious and it appears to me that more than ever players / agents are seeing the advantage of actually playing in premier spring FB (USFL/XFL>UFL)

This is Awesome!

BREAKING: The Michigan Panthers have re-signed QB E.J. Perry, per source.
Perry needs no introduction, leading the @USFLPanthers to a comeback victory in week 10 to make the playoffs - and was stellar in their loss against Pittsburgh.
Massive FA retention for Mike Nolan. #UFL<<

Re: NFL Practice Squad/Futures Contract Tracker 2024
Among the 61 announced signings today by the XFL, LB Ace Eley signed with Houston. He finished the season on Carolina's practice squad, bringing the total now to five.
