Will XFL pivot toward old-school football?

The biggest philosophical question relates to the style of play. The XFL, according to Vince McMahon, will attempt to be at the forefront of player safety. With the NFL taking safety to the extreme via the new helmet rule, the looming elimination of the kickoff, and the eventual (possibly) removal of the three-point stance, maybe the XFL’s vow to “reimagine” football should include turning back the clock.
It's gettin' hot in here...and we about to burn 'em up!

Looks like the 2020 XFL champion may be 2-3 seconds short of playing a full season :?

If the XFL really wants to go old school, they should look at the http://www.a7fl.com/. The hits are still big even though the don't use pads.

The XFL could use 11 players and normal football rules but either no or limited padding. The a7fl is sponsored by a soft hat/headband (http://2ndskull.com/?utm_source=a7fl.com that is supposed to reduce concussions. They could be modified to look like the old leather helmets but add modern logos. The a7fl could serve as a JV league that would develop players and fans.

They would have to change the theme song on the webpage, however ;)
