Re: Breaking: NSFL (National Spring Football League) has been trademarked
If the season starts in April, I could see the Renegades in a hub in San Antonio. And the reason for this is that nobody is going to attend an Arlington Renegades game in a June afternoon when it's 102 degrees outside. It's the main reason the Texas Rangers moved to the retractable roof Costco Warehouse known as Globe Life Field next door. There's a large, retractable roof football stadium that is across the street from Choctaw Stadium that sits empty for most of the spring, but that is likely too expensive for the NSFL. One solution to keep the team at Choctaw is for the Renegades to play games at night or the other is to play the first 5 games of the season at home in April and May and then have the team travel the rest of the season.

Good point on the night games. It's also why I think SA, StL and Mich are key. Domes not only provide heat protection but Rain protection in hot humid season... meaning they can avoid weather delays.GDAWG wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 3:06 pm If the season starts in April, I could see the Renegades in a hub in San Antonio. Back on your point on night games... recall Fox is losing Smackdown, its going to USA Net. That leaves a glaring spot on Friday nights. The USFL-XFL could be used to fill that niche in Spring. I think the Expanded B1G ten will be used to fill the gap in Sept- Nov.

It could, but I think Fox will go back to non-sports for Friday Nights.4th&long wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 3:25 pmGood point on the night games. It's also why I think SA, StL and Mich are key. Also, Rain doesn't happen in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex from June to Labor Day. It's nothing but temperatures in the triple digits for June, July, August and the first week of September until Labor Day.

Well that's good about no rain in June, but rain is a big issue in Memphis/Birm/Houston. The USFL season is basically April 15-June 30 with 1 game in Canton July 1st-3rd.GDAWG wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 3:42 pmIt could, but I think Fox will go back to non-sports for Friday Nights.4th&long wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 3:25 pmGood point on the night games. How hot is Dallas April and May? If hot, night games will work better. As far as Fox Friday night, time will tell.

That night has been such a headache for Fox for the past three decades that it was coined the "Friday Night Death Slot." Until they landed SmackDown! (arguably also the chain of events that led to McMahon landing their deal with Fox for the XFL in 2020), nothing was working there. That, and with actors still on strike and writers still having to make up a months-long gap in the cycle, there's going to be a need for nonscripted shows throughout this season.

Unscripted, or even yet another 911 Spin-off.johnnyangryfuzzball wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 4:20 pmGDAWG wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 3:42 pmIt could, but I think Fox will go back to non-sports for Friday Nights.4th&long wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 3:25 pm

April and May are in the high 90's, but not too hot. It also rains a lot in April and May, to where sometimes it's referred to as "flooding season." FC Dallas plays a lot of day games during this time.4th&long wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 3:59 pmWell that's good about no rain in June, but rain is a big issue in Memphis/Birm/Houston. If the league plays from April to July, the Renegades will not be back in Arlington unless they only play night games at home. Nobody is going to go to their games if they stay in Arlington and they play home day games in June and July.

If they needed to play one summer game in Dallas in front of only 12,000 people, they could also rent Ford Center.GDAWG wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 3:06 pm If the season starts in April, I could see the Renegades in a hub in San Antonio. Solid and professional sounding.
A bit too near the NFL name but good enough.
I am more interested in seeing what teams make the cut. The name is whatever. It is not like the XFL is a crowning jewel moniker.
