Rourke is a machine. He is down the depth chart from Trevor Lawrence, but he will eventually get a chance. He's too good to sit on the bench.

Not only behind Lawrence, but also CJ Beathard.

Yeah, a long way to go. Rourke was too good for the CFL and now that he is in the NFL he needs to have his moment where he can prove himself. I think it will come. He needs to be patient.

I think the fear is that he ends up like Chris "Pat McAfee calls me Strafolsky" Strevler, who's barely hanging on to an NFL career.

No chance.

Strevler is not a NFL level QB and the Cardinals signed him because they were impressed with his dual capabilities, and kept him because he's a great camp body.

If Rourke gets the chance Strevler got, and is able to actually play in a regular season NFL game, then his career is going to escalate dramatically. I mean it when I say that Nathan Rourke was not an NFL starting QB when he entered the CFL but two years of pro experience later and I genuinely think he could compete or be ready to start on a team that has not got a solid starting QB. He rolls into NE, the Raiders (tho I like Jimmy G), Falcons or Commanders and he is starting within a few weeks and I would put money on him having a great season.

But like Heinicke said, the best job in the world is a backup QB in the NFL, so maybe he's fine with that. A Canadian QB succeeding in the NFL though would be absolutely insane

for him, being Canadian and coming from the CFL, it is good news at least to stay as the third QB, and not be released, I don't know much about the situation of QBs in other teams, hopefully at least I have the opportunity to be traded to another team where I can be the backup QB.
