They're not paying an additional $20m for Utah State, Nevada, Idaho, etc. The average will drop unless they get teams equal to what they've got. And even then, there's a good chance even the current teams valuation drops given the lack of interest in a lot of their potential matchups.
that is incorrect

the number is a flat fee 20m per team up to 12 teams

the plan is to give half shares to the new teams, and the leftover money to the big name teams

that might be the best case scenario for the remaining PAC-6

they can give 6 new members $10M each

and the 6 old members can get their $30M target

keeping in mind they may do something like this:

Oregon and Washington $35M

Stanford and Cal $30M

O state and W state $25M

the big question for me is will schools like SMU think $10M is enough?

they are facing an over $18M exit fee

they are making around $7M now

Apple TV?: PAC-12 status and media rights deal

Post by 4th&long »

All Streaming APPLE deal at no more than $20mm each... OUCH...

If AZ, AZ St and Utah are smart they will be out by tomorrow. There is no way Oregon and Washington are leaving a half priced B1G deal on the table for this subpar plan.

Its looking like Pac-12 is in serious trouble.

The truth of the Pac-12’s journey to a new media rights deal is that the negotiations were never going well and the contract was always going to be bad.<<

PAC-12 media deal not cutting it

>> “The bottom line is this, guys,” Finebaum said. “Nobody is signing up on Apple to watch the Pac-12 because there’s nothing to watch once you lose Colorado, UCLA and USC.

“I don’t want to be the guy that keeps burying this league because I think I did it the other day, but I’m gonna keep doing it. Somebody needs to shovel dirt on this league and end this charade. It’s over for the Pac-12.”

Finebaum also said that programs who are being courted by the Big 12 — reportedly Arizona, Arizona State and Utah — should take action.

“And if these 3 don’t get out of here, they’re going down with the ship,” Finebaum said.<<

Gotta agree with PF here unfortunately and the lack of action by the Schools - esp those targeted by Big12 - is pathetic. These people get paid alot of money to make big decisions - handle it.

an all APPLE is not ideal, but to be honest, it's what everyone has been expecting for over a year now

i still think they will be reduced to 6, then add 6 G5 teams, and then go on with their lives...
