Coach Holtz after rain Soaked Birm parade
Interesting he notes that he had turned down 4 opportunities (I assume they were equivalent or better than current job or why offer) and said he's looking forward to year 3.

He said he turned down Dow “4 opportunities “ not head coaching jobs. It could have been a scout position, high school job, or heck the water boy for Alabama.

We know that two of them were American schools, one of them probably UAB before they went with untested Dilfer. Being that he's already coached in the AAC (and its forerunner the Big East) twice it was likely a case of been there done that, even with UAB as a new member.
I can't imagine he'd have done a Sumlin-like move.
