Re: PFT: USFL articles
And this is all going to translate to a half hour pregame show on NBC/Peacock/USA called USFL Across America (with Florio in the studio) right?

Re: PFT: USFL articles
Nah, Florio is going to spend a half hour ranting about how he doesn't believe Tom Brady has retired this time around and will name Miami and San Francisco as his destinations for both 2023 and 2024, despite the fact that he will be working for Fox in 2024. And then Florio finally gets his wish of a Sean Payton/Tom Brady team up in Denver in 2025 that he has been harping on for a year now, except with Miami.
And then in 2026, Florio will have a two hour long special on Peacock about how Brady has acquired a robot body to play for another 50 years.

Re: PFT: USFL articles
That could actually be the show
"So what kind of fantasy bet is Case Cookus looking like today?"
"Well I'll tell you I think Aaron Rodgers is holding out on a trade to the Raiders because of a problem with their undrafted long snapper, that I think puts Brady back in play"
"But I meant Case Cook............"
"Oh yeah, let Russ cook and actually go through with it should be the Broncos' theme this year"
Definite must see TV (fact they might even bring back the name for it)

Re: PFT: USFL articles
Only one here that does, everyone else understands the huge health risks that come with it
But I don't think pointing out that maybe two brownie points don't constitute extra viewers (and more importantly dollars) equals consumption exactly, nor does mocking

PFT: USFL Draft
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2 ... n-tuesday/
>> The USFL 2.0 will be back for a second season in 2023. And they’re doing something different when it comes to acquiring players.
The USFL will conduct a college draft, on Tuesday.
The Michigan Panthers earned the first pick in each round by beating the Pittsburgh Maulers in the final game of the season. Both teams entered the game with 1-8 records. In lieu of incentivizing losing, the USFL encouraged the Panthers and Maulers to win, giving the victor the spoils.<<

PFT: USFL names D Johnston Pres.
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2 ... perations/
>> Daryl “Moose” Johnston, the former Cowboys fullback and longtime NFL broadcaster, is getting a new job with the USFL.
Johnston, who was previously vice president of football operations, has been promoted to president of football operations, according to Forbes.
~
The USFL doesn’t have a commissioner, so Johnston is the highest-ranking football executive in the league. Fox Sports, where Johnston is employed as an analyst, owns the USFL.
The second season of the new iteration of the USFL kicks off next weekend, with two games on Fox on Saturday, one game on NBC and Peacock on Sunday and one game on FS1 on Sunday. <<

PFT: USFL returns this weekend
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2 ... y-qb-rule/
>> The USFL will return this weekend, and the league is touting its rulebook as a step forward from the rules fans are accustomed to.
This year USFL kickoffs will be from the 20-yard line, meaning that touchbacks will become virtually nonexistent. Last year USFL kickoffs were from the 25-yard line and 81 percent of kickoffs were returned, but with kickoffs at the 20 the number of kickoff returns will only go up. <<
