Once the Brett Hundley signing is made official, that will be six players signed by the XFL from this list.

Also, six drafted XFL players have returned to the league after finishing the season on NFL practice squads and not signing to futures deals: S Nate Meadors, OT George Moore, LB Ferrod Gardner, QB Steven Montez, C Michal Menet, and DE Niko Lalos.

I looked back at the 2020 thread and six players were signed by the XFL from expiring practice squad contracts, while five went to the XFL after initially being drafted there, then signing to NFL practice squads after that. So despite the presence of the USFL to provide competition for players, the XFL is ahead of where they were in 2020 in terms of signing this level of players (and that 2020 number was after the Super Bowl, so we've still got about two weeks to go).

The other side of this, of course, is that practice squads are bigger now than they were in '19-20, so there is a bigger pool of players not being signed to futures deals and thus available to the XFL and USFL.

Also recall that the USFL had 18 teams (1984) while NFL had 28. The population in USA-Canada is up since then 40+% - so just based on the numbers, even with 4 more teams and expanded PS/rosters - plenty of players s/b available.

So all teams have made their reserve/futures signings. Here is where we stand:

DT Kobe Smith (Atlanta) was claimed by the Brahmas
QB Brett Hundley (New Orleans) was claimed by the Vipers
WR Davion Davis (Houston) was claimed by the Roughnecks
LB Tim Ward (Green Bay) was claimed by the Roughnecks
G Kahlil McKenzie (Baltimore) was claimed by the Vipers
OT Derrick Kelly (New Orleans) was claimed by the Brahmas
OT Sage Doxtater (New Orleans) was claimed by the Roughnecks
DE Trent Harris (Las Vegas) was claimed by the Defenders
S Nate Meadors (Tennessee), drafted by the Battlehawks, is now on their active roster
OT George Moore (Denver), drafted by the Renegades, is now on their active roster
LB Ferrod Gardner (Washington), drafted by the Defenders, is now on their active roster
QB Steven Montez (Detroit), assigned to the Sea Dragons, is now on their active roster
C Michal Menet (Green Bay), drafted by the Sea Dragons, is now on their active roster
DE Niko Lalos (New Orleans), drafted by the Sea Dragons, is now on their active roster

Eight players were claimed by XFL teams that ended NFL seasons on practice squads; six were drafted by XFL teams, then signed to practice squads, then returned to their XFL teams.

In 2020, six were claimed and five were drafted by XFL teams then went back to the XFL after being on NFL practice squads to end the season.

Just this week, two more players who ended the season on NFL practice squads were signed to XFL rosters: WR Jaquarii Roberson (Roughnecks) and WR Victor Bolden (Broncos). Both had signed futures contracts but were released within the last week or two.

They are joined by WR Lance Lenoir (Guardians), who ended the season on the Rams PS, and LB Aaron Donkor (Roughnecks), who ended the season on the Seahawks PS, as mid-season XFL pickups.
