Not a fan of the late start, but I'll be watching, and I get why. At least the Sixers-Heat and Phillies - NY Mets games should be over.
I'm routing for Philly, but not by alot. Philly Run D is brutal, they need to control the clock on Offense. That won't be easy against Mich D. I'm concerned Mich running game will wear down the Philly D like NJ did. Case Cookus better be Case Kickass. And stay healthy! If Philly puts up a couple quick scores it may force Mich to get away from the run.

Is the STARS game this week only available on the MySpace+ app ??
Or am I actually able to watch it on a (gasp!) television ?

What is the deal with such a late start? Was it FS1 just jamming a game in a time slot where they had an opening?
Say what you will about the XFL, but the fact that they had a consistent window (2 pm Saturday on ABC, 5pm Saturday on Fox) was a boon to the success they had. The surest way to kill any TV product is to bounce its time slot around from one to another.

Definitely not ideal for the USFL, but the flexibility is very useful for the broadcaster, so it's a delicate balancing act for sure. A few people submitted questions around this theme for Greg's expert interview, so hopefully we'll get some interesting insights here.

Yeah, remember FS1 was going to have the TSL championship at 10p local time in Orlando in 2020 (which got moved up when the basketball game before it was canceled). It's race weekend all over FS1, so it was this or nothing.johnnyangryfuzzball wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 7:46 pm What is the deal with such a late start? In fairness this isn't exactly new, NBC pre-empted an episode of the then-new NBC Saturday Night (the ABC version of SNL with Howard Cosell was still in use for a few more weeks) for Indiana/UCLA--the first game of the undefeated Hoosiers vs the first of the post-Wooden Bruins--with a 10:30 local tip in St. Louis in the days when college basketball on TV was fairly new.
FS1 had 9:00 local starts as well for college football, in fact once (maybe more) during the Leach heyday at Texas Tech and had one in 2020.
But overall, even TSL had a semi-consistent window. In fact I'm not sure if the USFL will end up with one for consecutive weeks.
