He's saying weekly rule changes undercut the integrity of the competition.

Again NFL did same thing last year when they got massive push back from players.MGB01 wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 11:52 pm Reaching? There was no reason to do this, especially coming off the biggest momentum weekend for an alt league going back to at least NFLE (maybe UFL week 2 in 2010 but we know where that went).
Do they have to come up with something every week to make it look like they put this league together in three months?
Back on this - It's called adapting to actual results. No one cares. Play ball.

Yes, totally similar situation. Yet all that really came of it was the NFL moved three games, you say that like the USFL hasn't already moved one.
And any more weekly rule changes no one will care about actual results.

NO the NFL rules changes disallowed players playing with COVID one week of rules to the next - it impacted games directly.MGB01 wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 11:53 am4th&long wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 11:24 amAgain NFL did same thing last year when they got massive push back from players.MGB01 wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 11:52 pm Reaching? IMO - You are way off on how fans will react to these rules changes.

It impacted starters playng or not in NFL games, hence why the finally balked and NFL folded.MGB01 wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 12:08 pmRe: NFL, Who got gift wins?

USFL is making the rules change to make sure the games finish in under 3hrs - that was their stated reason. It will certainly help in that regard.

Still waiting for the receipts of what happened (specifically which games had the wrong result) other than you sounding like your buddy Florio.
And this isn't something you do almost four weeks in. BTW the reaction to said tweet isn't really going on your favor, apparently I'm not "way off" after all.

Re: Clock changes to speed up game?
I am not a fan of rules that shift within a game based on the time on the clock.
I prefer consistency, whether in the USFL or NFL or whatever.
They should just make it a running clock for the entire game.
Changing rules within two minutes, or only in certain quarters, or if a groundhog sees his shadow that day, just becomes too arbitrary and convoluted.
And don't get me started on nonsense rules like "intentional grounding" and "in-the-grasp".
Either he's tackled or he isn't. Don't tell me he should or shouldn't have been tackled, so....

How will games results be different do to this rule?MGB01 wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 12:33 pm Still waiting for the receipts of what happened (specifically which games had the wrong result) other than you sounding like your buddy Florio.

Its publc knowldge NFL changed rules on covid which impacted players playing or not playing during a season. The point is NFL made midseason changes.

You call it a point I call it reaching for the next goalpost to move.4th&long wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 5:45 pmHow will games results be different do to this rule?MGB01 wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 12:33 pm Still waiting for the receipts of what happened (specifically which games had the wrong result) other than you sounding like your buddy Florio.

There's been some play about another "Super Sports Saturday" (like ESPN tried to push a while back to a big yawn) with the Derby and NBA/NHL playoffs and the big USFL story is the clock. How is that supposed to capitalize off last week's momentum and gain viewers?
All that makes people say is "Oh yeah this is the league that kicked out a player cause he wanted pizza/told everyone a guy broke his foot when he didn't/changed the balls for their kickers and they still can't kick"
Paraphrasing Derrick Locke after he was drafted by the UFL, I AIN'T WATCHIN THIS ****!
