Not sure but...

It's either free (doubtful) or the $4.99 for a month, I'm cheap but I'll spring for it!

Yep. Paywalled. The icon for the May 1 game reads "Watch with Premium." (Premium is the $4.99 tier, Premium Plus is $9.99)

I can't seriously believe they're calling second-tier football a "premium" event that people are actually going to pay to watch on a screen.

Well based on the articles description “cycling” is also in the premium tier so the term is somewhat relative.
