Do they refund their money, give them free slots on primetime programming, find some other way to recoup their loss? In XFL 1.0 sponsors started bailing out after week 4 and it was the same 3 commercials repeated over and over again.
I do wish we knew the details of what happens if that scenario takes shape, I’d be interested in readingnit

Ah, yes, Lugz and Stacker2. (Both of whom were WWF sponsors at the time if I remember right.)

FS1: Week 1 ratings

Post by 4th&long »

The FS1 ratings are in and weren't good. Not surprised with the last minute reschedule and NBA playoff game on and a poor showing by Pitt.

I was hoping for 400k but they did 268k. Per MM TSL averaged 81k for 2021 season. More like an NHL reg season game on TNT or NBCSN.

I expect better on scheduled and promoted times.

Now we head toward week 2 with the almost inevitable ratings drop. Like laxtreme mentioned in another thread, I’m not confident based off of some reaction I’ve seen. Especially with the De’Veon Smith debacle that isn’t working in the USFL’s favor. The Friday night game should be an interesting test on ratings.

Almost throw it out since it was a resked and will (hopefully) be the only non-Fri weeknight game of the year.

I thought the play was sub par, no doubt for several reasons. Next week's ratings should tell the story though. Here's hoping.

Dont blame anyone who tuned out after that Pitt performance in the first half. Honestly embarrassing and I’m happy no one saw Kirby Wilson’s offense

Although it doesn't really bode well for Saturday with the Maulers (Mauled?) and a noon start, against a Philly team that should get it together and roll convincingly.

Sunday is the big one to look at. Anywhere around 2.5 mil and we're still good.

The XFL survived some weak offense in week 1.
XFL had :
DC 31 - Seattle 19 (season opener)
Houston 37 - LA 17
NY 23 - 3 TB
StL 15 - 9 Dallas

Let's not over react here, we've been through this rodeo before. AAF debut weekend was even worse. In fact USFL had the closest games yet.
