I could have sworn the Gunslinger name was among the early USFL trademarks. These are the San Antonio Gunslingers of the NAL:

Of course given the Gunslinger legacy and the sketchiness of the NAL, probably best that they have it. Still curious--although it looks like they played in the AAL last year, so maybe they just left that alone.

And in the era of mass shooting, it might be worth just steering clear entirely.
If they make it to Year 2 and start actually placing teams in cities, it will be interesting to see how faithful they continue to be to the original brands.

People are too sensitive now. Actually "Gamblers" was the name thought inappropriate at that time in the eighties and Gunslingers was perfectly fine. Not anymore.
