Why have we not heard an official Birmingham announcement yet? I haven’t seen anything in a month other than maybe a reporter referencing Birmingham as a potential host when the names were announced.
Is it a done deal or is there something holding it up?

From what I’ve heard it’s a done deal but don’t expect any announcements until 2022Uncle Coaster wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 11:34 am Why have we not heard an official Birmingham announcement yet? Re: USFL news
I guess I don’t get it. Why wouldn’t they have announced it with the team names? I’m rooting for the USFL. If they are playing in a hub I’m planning on flying to wherever I have to go in order to watch a weekend full of games.
I fully expect a a 2022 season to happen. However, the non-announcements and lack of commitments are just weird to me. What we have officially right now is a promise of a new league using old team names and logos in cities where they don’t have agreements in place and a promise that they’ll play somewhere but aren’t really saying where yet. And it’ll be broadcast somehow.
If Fox wasn’t involved I’d say that the NGL/UFL was farther along at this point in the last three years than the USFL is today.

Re: USFL news
I mean I get not loving that they aren’t announcing things but we know from the city of Birmingham where it’s being done. From what I’ve heard Fox is kinda letting college football wrap up before they start the news rollout. I bet Birmingham will be announced with the TV deal side of things. Because the Birmingham officials said nbc and fox so maybe it’ll be Birmingham and scheduleUncle Coaster wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 12:37 pm I guess I don’t get it. It’s really interesting because I didn’t think Pittsburgh would have any sort of following and thought Philly may struggle as well, clearly not as expected for just about everyone but the panthers4th&long wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 2:37 pm https://twitter.com/Newsusfl/status/1471539288882003974

This is a very interesting post. I was thinking, would the Maulers still be #1 on this list if the Steelers were better than a .500 team at this point? Then I realized every city on here with an NFL team with the exception of Tampa Bay is currently .500 or worse. Maybe that’s creating some interest from disgruntled NFL fans? Kind of surprised Birmingham is only #6 so far with the talk of them being the host city. There would have been more coverage there, I would think.

Re: USFL news
With Houston playing Auburn in the B-ham Bowl next week, no need to squash them, use them as sort of an unofficial kickoff.

NJ 101.5 pumping USFL and liking it
With NY having no good teams in sight in NFL... a strong NJ Generals team could do well with fans...

>> News from the reborn USFL has been trickling out over the past month or so, with the latest release touting the involvement of NBC as a broadcast partner. This is significant because the league is owned by FOX.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm getting kind of excited about the new USFL; New Jersey will have a team (the Generals) and they will actually use New Jersey in their name. Plus, more football is good, right?
