That’s how this league plans on making money instead of a tv deal generating money the moneys generated by just being on tv.
You can cut out the owners by owning the league directly, but now you're responsible for ownership. The networks have to share the profit of broadcasting NHL games, but the networks don't have to pay the NHL players, manage their benefits, rent the arenas, sell the tickets, buy the equipment, hire the coaches and the referees and the mascots and the EMT services and the security and the gameday staff, etc. There is so, so much that goes into this.
It can definitely work. Look no further than NBC's ownership stake in XFL 1.0 for an example of how it can definitely not work.

Ya the original xfl was done bad by not knowing what they wanted to be before it happened. Vince wanted an in person wwe football league nbc wanted what the USFL was, pretty much doomed to fail by mismanagement imo. I am excited for next weeks USFL announcement, they created a lot of social media pages the last few days, hopefully we learn a lot about it

While promoting the USFL on NFL games may be problematic.
There are many games on FOX networks starting on Friday night and all day Saturday plus the "Big Noon" show.
After the annoucement - Expect some flash or longer ads for the USFL starting Friday - assuming they announce this Tuesday or Wednesday.
Maybe even on NFL pregame shows. Who knows - but I do expect that Fox will spread the word during FB games.
Ya since it’s fox owned I agree, we should start hearing about it while they have other sports on. Also possible nbc runs a few ads on Sunday night since they’re broadcasting it also.

Well 1- I don't know abount NFL games as they may not permit it in their contract. I meant to say COLLEGE games (as that's what's on Friday and Saturday).
2 - I'm not sure about NBC - w/o ownership interest they may not be as big on promo this far out. But if they do it will be on N Dame CFB.
But it all starts with the official announcement. I hope its this week as Thanksgiving is next week, and then its Christmas and Holiday mode.

Ya I think the announcement will be this week. I only say they may advertise during nfl or nba games because I thought the xfl did during the super bowl so just assumed it’s allowdd

XFL did some I think yes. But I'll bet Fox got approval from NFL. Could be same here, but no guarantee.
Fox doesn't have NBA games so its likely CFB and CBB plus the NFL is approved.

Oh ya you’re right, I forgot fox moved off the nba and the local affiliates aren’t with fox anymore. My bad. Ya I expect some ads during college games, could be wrong but that’s where I assume the majority of potential fans are coming from

Also the FoxBet and all things betting. That drives interest.
