Even if it was 10k and it wasn’t. That’s really bad for a home opener. 0 and 2 record or not.MikeSherman wrote: ↑Sat Feb 23, 2019 8:07 pm I'm sure Flanagan is telling the truth. It was still embarrassing. Glad the XFL is cutting halftime.
More embarrassing is the AAF reporting 10,412 in attendance. I honestly think they're just adding 5K to everything.

One reason for the low SL attendance is it was 33 Degrees

The XFL is cutting halftime altogether? Or just the halftime show?MikeSherman wrote: ↑Sat Feb 23, 2019 8:07 pm I'm sure Flanagan is telling the truth. It was still embarrassing. Glad the XFL is cutting halftime.

So if they follow your advice here would be the team colors:MikeSherman wrote: ↑Sat Feb 23, 2019 8:04 pmWhy name the team Salt Lake rather than Utah? Why give the Salt Lake team double blue and the San Antonio team double red, when the seats in the Alamodome are predominantly blue and the seats in Ericsson Stadium predominantly red?
I hope the XFL is paying attention. When practical, consider the colors of the venue when assigning the team colors. It goes a long way toward making it feel like your home stadium rather than just some building you've rented.
Houston-The inside is grey so it could be anything they want.
Dallas-Green
Seattle-Navy
LA-Also Grey
New York-Grey Too
D.C.-Red
Tampa Bay-Red
St. Louis-Red+A bit of blue

That's pretty good if they can average that all season. Orlando and San Antonio are holding up their end of the bargain, but
Salt Lake, Memphis, and Arizona are abysmal.

That’s an acceptable number. If The Apollos continue to win. The number should go up. The Orlando Rage averaged 25 thousand per game in The XFL.BhamXFLFan wrote: ↑Sat Feb 23, 2019 10:05 pm 20,394 is the announced attendance for the Orlando game
The key with the whole average 20k a game strategy is try and offset costs.
Orlando and San Antonio should get there. We shall see about the rest.

Re: AAF Update Thread
That’s not really a legit excuse. College and NFL teams play in much worse weather than that. I don’t expect an alternative football league to draw like the NFL but for a home opener to draw 10k. That’s pretty bad. It’s not like it was snowing or 10 below. 33 degrees in that setting is fairly normal.BhamXFLFan wrote: ↑Sat Feb 23, 2019 10:05 pm One reason for the low SL attendance is it was 33 Degrees

That's what the AAF signed up for. XFL is going to have some really cold dates in New York, DC, and Seattle.BhamXFLFan wrote: ↑Sat Feb 23, 2019 10:05 pm One reason for the low SL attendance is it was 33 Degrees
20K for Orlando sounds about right, although it's telling that they're always just over 10K or 20K and never just under.

Halftime altogether. Or at least that was the plan at one point.
I just think it's an important variable to keep in mind. They're creating a television product, and today's game in Salt Lake is a great example of how some more thoughtful choices would have gone a long way toward improving the visual experience.
Not everyone can wear red as a primary color, but you can always use the stadium's color scheme as an accent color. I do think you have to think hard about green for Dallas (although it makes sense for Seattle too) and I definitely think D.C. should use red and white as accents and something in the black/grey/charcoal as the primary.
