Now, I wouldn't assume this guarantees a 2026 season by any stretch. But I know that's how people online and especially on social media will react to this.

No doubt that's the message the UFL wants to convey here. But it could also be something they or the NFL encouraged to do, that is getting some European players to get Euro interest up for American FB.

Unforced error.
This sends the exact opposite message of "we're stable and we're coming back next year." Instead it says "we're wasting resources we probably don't have on trips to other continents way outside our territory and making promises we're almost certainly not able to keep."
I really don't see what this establishes. It's not like Switzerland is this hotbed of American football. Even if they did sign someone, you'd have boatloads of immigration law and then the issue of if they don't actually make the team, you've hauled that player across the Atlantic for a few weeks of training camp and nothing, likely not even paying them enough for a plane ticket home.

RE: location, only thing I can think of is it's in the middle of Europe, easier access for players from Germany, Spain, France, Italy, etc., a lot of whom I believe make up the ELF.

This is next year... 10 months away. It has to be a teaser to indicate there will be other planned collaboration with European Football in the offing. On its own this looks like a nothing burger to me.
