UFL hires Ken Whisenhunt as HC, Jim Monos as GM of Showboats

Whisenhunt is a great get IMO and I'm glad it's not just another spring football retread. Monos was with the AAF and XFL as a league personnel guy. I've also listened frequently to his podcast with Tyler Dunne, so I'm excited about that hire as well.

Monos worked under Brandon in Buffalo so this makes perfect sense.

Although he's on the older side, he's a spring football novice, so it's a good move.

Too bad Houston still keeps Curtis Johnson.  Johnson did not know what he was doing last season, especially when it comes to clock management.

Agreed - excellent HC hire!
Don't know Monos but based on spring experience and what you heard - sounds like a good pick.

Very good news for Memphis and the UFL!

Really interesting media call with Wiz and Daryl Johnston today. Mark has a great write-up on the front page. Mentioned Whisenhunt contacted Moose about the job, and really wants to work developing players. Also said he turned down a college HC job recently. The league interviewed three internal, three external candidates for the HC job. Internal I assume would be AJ Smith, Blevins, and....?

Other thing Wiz mentioned that caught my attention is that at least one current NFL assistant has already contacted him about being on his staff in Memphis.
