Re: Dispersal draft
This is the 7th QB that they have now. Something has to give here. Connor Blumrick can also play TE so his versatility is enough to keep him on the roster, so that reduces the number to 6. Kevin Anderson and Kelly Bryant might not be back in 2024 and if they are not back, that number is down to 4. The Renegades do not need 7 QBs headed into camp, 4 is more than enough. We will know soon what happens to Anderson and Bryant.

It would help if they released the list of the 42 protected players. That would give us the answer.GDAWG wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 3:30 pmThis is the 7th QB that they have now. I’m very high on Lindsey Scott. He was absurd at Incarnate Word. Very QB friendly system, but 60 TD in a season is still ridiculous.
Exactly the type of the player a league like this should benefit.

It would but right now, I am basing it off Wiki and they have listed 6 QBs: Luis Perez, Anderson, Bryant, Holton Ahlers, Connor Degenhardt and Blumrick.GregParks wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 3:32 pmIt would help if they released the list of the 42 protected players. I would assume the 42 protected players would include draftees. Otherwise, it'd be kind of silly to go through this process of selecting a player only to lose it to a team in another conference.GregParks wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 3:32 pmIt would help if they released the list of the 42 protected players. It's looking like the Roughnecks were pretty shrewd when they cut a good chunk of their roster before the merger. It'll be far easier for the new Roughnecks to pick them up and let them stay on the team that way.
As for 7 QBs on one team, remember, this is the process of consolidating 16 teams into 8. Rosters are, at least for a brief period, going to look absurdly huge.

Re: Dispersal draft
The protected players are those teams had the rights to before the draft or who were on the team last year. Then they draft players to add to it. The only players available in the super dispersal draft are the (a) players not among those 42 protected by each surviving team and (b) players not drafted in today's dispersal draft from those contracted franchises. So today's draftees are NOT part of the 42 protected, but are added after and are NOT part of the Jan. 15th dispersal draft.johnnyangryfuzzball wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 4:30 pmI would assume the 42 protected players would include draftees.
