Detroit still isn't selling tickets, what's up with that?

Post by mnrlgrey »

The UFL | Tickets

They're 'coming soon'. You can put a deposit down on season tickets but that's it. Single game tickets are obviously not on sale either then. This is the only team that is still like this in the league which makes no sense to me since Ford Field was announced as coming back in like December. Rice was announced weeks ago and is fully open on ticket sales already.

It's annoying as a Battlehawks fan who wants to buy 4 tickets and book a flight to Detroit for the season opener against them in 5 weeks.

Looks like it may have to do with some behind-the-scenes maneuvering when it comes to ticketing, which frankly, should've been ironed-out by now.

Agreed - this should have been handled well before now.  Posted last Sat hey were still only taking deposits in Mich and had them as lowest projected atendance for yr because of it - well at least the league is taking action albeit late.

>>Panthers Shadow@UFLShadowIt looks like the #UFL is taking over Panthers ticketing from the Lions/Ford Field ticketing that handled tickets last year. I assume this means season ticket holders will no longer need to use the Lions account management for their tickets.<<

Detroit earns its rep as a stagnating city.  Shame.  I hope they heavily discount the home opener.

Uhh, I hope Detroit doesn't become this years Vegas Vipers. I'm a bit concerned with the crowds in Houston will look like inside that cavernous stadium, but think the other 6 teams will hold steady or have small increases.

You might not be far off, much as I wasn't when I said SummerSlam would outdraw the five Panther games combined (actual attendance was just over 51,000, meaning the Panthers would have had to average over 10.2K per game--not counting hub games). It also doesn't help the growing pro-NOLA contingent that at least would have liked to have at least seen talks with the Shrine progress past the preliminary stage--I talk to at least three of them.

Seattle can be explained by being isolated from everybody in the current setup (and finding a way to keep them in would be business malpractice), New Orleans can't, so Detroit is a huge risk.

Houston will be fine. If the budgeting is for realistic crowds just go with it.
