Probably trying to get all the separate income they can before a merger since half will go to someone else in a few weeks (hopefully). I bought a hoodie for $54. Not a bad price but kind of shocking that it's 60% off at that price.
Would've been nice to have a discount on season tickets like the USFL is doing right now though, plus you get a $40 USFL merch gift card with the tickets. I do wonder what ticket prices will be like in 2025, gonna be really weird if XFL tickets are still like 4-5x as much as USFL tickets within the same league.
But yeah I hope this means the merger is probably coming soon. Both leagues doing these big discounts right now to milk their separate fans as much as they can before a merger.

Should've been $22 with the discount. It appears as $54 in the shop still but once you go through the checkout process it knocks it down to $22.
I'm not sure I'd read all that much into the discount being related to the merger. It is Black Friday, after all.

Well clearing out merchandise is what you do in a rebrand or in this case consolidation. They did similar with getting rid of 2020 XFL material.

There's black Friday deals everywhere. Heck, the PLL has 30% off merchandise right now, and they haven't played a single game in their home cities yet. The league could be getting a new merchandise sponsor and just wants to clear it's overstock inventory. Basically a nothing burger

Or they are clearing out the old for the new. Great time to do it before the new arrives.

Exactly. The NFL shop has 40%-60% off selected merchandise as well.
From the XFL shop I got a hat and football for just $20 total included tax and shipping.
