https://www.cbssports.com/college-footb ... er-report/

>> The NFL has threatened legal action against the University of Houston in the form of a cease-and-desist letter over the football program's use of throwback uniforms similar to what the Houston Oilers wore during their "Luv Ya Blue" era, according to the Houston Chronicle. The Chronicle obtained a copy of the NFL's letter via open records request. <<

Another reason why Houston Gamblers is safer than the Roughnecks ie helmets

The colors that the Titans used yesterday in the NFL debut of Will Levis.

XFL already settled this with the NFL as they abandoned the old Roughnecks logos “with prejudice” created new logos and then played a whole season with no further complaints by the NFL. So, no I don’t think so.
Fan of the XFL from the beginning. You may remember me from the original XFLboard.

Logo is one thing. That was the central dispute with the Roughnecks challenge.

But it's an extreme stretch to claim you can trademark a color scheme. If you could, the Bills and Giants would have sued each other years ago.

So if a new team appeared dressed like Penn State, it could sue?

Only if the Penn St look-alike underperforms in all big games... that would be too much like Penn St
