I don't agree with everything in this piece, especially where the author begins by saying "The problem was that Vince McMahon seemingly went out of his way to ruin the XFL by filling it with every awful idea he could think of."
I think that this is a little harsh, as McMahon came up with some great ideas such as cameras and hot mikes on the field, and the in-game interviews of players broadcast over the stadium loudspeakers.
One failure though, in my opinion, was having Jesse Ventura go onto the field and give head coach Rusty Tillman a copy of "Football for Dummies". Too much WWE!

I think that most of these are correct:
Don't politicize the league
Take care of players
Don't scramble for the ball
Go to some 'football cities' that have no NFL team
Get big names
They have 2 years to get this right. They need to figure out what is best for the fans and the league. There are some good recommendations in there though.
