We know the Riders were the visitors. You said they had to give up a home game:

I got lost in the math. But it is an inconvenience of the Saskatchewan Rough Riders when it's fanbase are used to showcase a league event. The Rider Fans have s wonderful reputation as a travelling fans. Makes one wonder how many in attendance were from the local region. Anyway, the Riders should be rightfully compensated

How on earth would Montreal playing a home game in Quebec City cause the visiting team to lose gate revenue?

Simple economics. The other team loses a home date playing in a neutral site/showcase game. Season tickets holders get dinged for the other game being played else where.

It would be a MTL home game. The opponent would still be on the road whether it's played in MTL or QC.

This would be an initiative of the Als themselves. No compensation from the league would come into play, and even so, why would the league pay travel expenses for the opponent when they don't compensate for other road games?

But,the Als aren't in Touchdown Atlantic. Teams get a corporate discount on travel through the league's sponsorship deals with WestJet and Red Tag dot ca. So in effect there is a form of compensation set up by the league

The Alouettes hired a new team president and CEO in Mark Weightman. Peladeau is making the right hiring since Weightman returns for another opportunity to operate the football team.
