BREAKING: The Birmingham Stallions have signed former @XFLBattlehawksWR Gary Jennings.

Jennings had an NFL stint with the Carolina Panthers after his #XFL season, and now joins the reigning #USFL champs.

Stallions also signed CB Mark Milton.

This does bring up an interesting question: Players released by XFL teams to pursue NFL opportunities have their rights revert back to their original XFL team if they choose to return. Would that still apply in a merged league? Obviously Jennings is signing with the USFL, not the merged league, so that won't apply yet. But at some point, it might.

If that rule is intact in the Merged league - and its likely - than sure it would still apply

This would have to be one of the things being negotiated right now as the terms of merger are being finalized.
